  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 pan with foil and nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. Beat sugar, eggs, espresso powder, and vanilla in another bowl until fluffy; then mix in the cocoa mixture.
  4. Combine flour with salt and baking powder; fold into wet ingredients gently.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes until a toothpick comes out slightly sticky.
  6. Prepare frosting by mixing whipping cream with instant coffee until dissolved; beat with softened butter and powdered sugar until fluffy.
  7. Frost cooled brownies, melt chocolate chips with cream in the microwave for topping, then spread over the frosted brownies.
