  • For the glaze: 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk or plant-based milk
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast chopped pecans for 5–7 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; then gradually add to wet mixture.
  5. Fold in toasted pecans gently.
  6. Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Cool on the sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze, melt butter and brown sugar together; add milk and mix in powdered sugar until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
