  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for almond topping)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water until foamy.
  2. Heat milk, sugar, and butter until melted. Combine with flour mixture along with yeast, eggs, vanilla extract, and lemon zest; stir until dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth. Let rise in a greased bowl covered with a damp towel until doubled.
  4. Melt butter for almond topping in a saucepan; stir in honey, heavy cream, and almonds until smooth.
