  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Chocolate candy melts for decoration
  • Candy eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream together softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips gently and refrigerate dough for at least 2 hours.
  6. Portion out mounds of dough onto prepared sheets and top each mound with extra chocolate chips.
  7. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set but centers remain slightly soft.
  8. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks. Decorate with melted chocolate and candy eyes once cooled.
