  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 12 Tbs mild chili powder
  • 4 oz spaghetti or angel hair pasta, broken into thirds
  • 1 can chili beans (15 oz), undrained
  • 1 can tomato juice (46 oz)
  • 1 Tbs granulated sugar
  • Optional garnishes: shredded cheddar cheese, corn chips, sour cream

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Break it apart while cooking for even browning.
  2. Add diced onion to the pot and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in mild chili powder, kosher salt, and pepper; mix well to coat.
  4. Pour in tomato juice and add the undrained chili beans along with broken pasta and sugar; stir to combine.
  5. Let the chili simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes to blend flavors.
  6. Serve hot alongside warm cinnamon rolls.
