  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Candy eyeballs and/or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a metal or glass bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar and mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in vanilla extract.
  5. Transfer meringue mixture into a piping bag fitted with a 1/2” tip.
  6. Pipe ghost shapes onto prepared baking sheets and add candy eyes before baking.
  7. Bake for about 1 hour until dry and crisp; let cool in the oven for another hour.
