  • 1/4 cup white grape juice (cold)

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • For serving: whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust by mixing flour, salt, and sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water and white grape juice to form dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook sweet potatoes until tender; mash until smooth.
  3. Combine softened butter with dark brown sugar, eggs, spices, evaporated milk, and vanilla. Mix in mashed sweet potatoes.
  4. Roll out chilled dough and fit into pie dish; fill with sweet potato mixture.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 90 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center. Cool before serving.
